A new camp: read the plans with clear eyes

Dar Swell Surf Camp is a new project in Tamraght. As checked on 10 October 2026, its official website states that opening is planned for November 2026.

Opening soon, not already open. A planned opening date is not a guarantee that rooms or a particular programme will be ready for your stay. Confirm the operating status and your dates directly before making travel plans that depend on them.

The published concept brings together rooms, shared spaces and an ocean-facing rooftop terrace. That makes it worth exploring if you want a surf-house stay with time to slow down after a session. It does not make this an independent review of a completed holiday: we have not used a proposed design, camp photography or a package description as proof of current guest experience.

Use Dar Swell’s official website for the latest opening update, and use the questions below to decide whether the planned stay fits you.

Compare the package, not just the name

Dar Swell currently publishes four package names: Starter, Swell Week, Duo and Family. The official camp guide describes Starter as the option with more activities available separately, while Swell Week includes a broader programme. Duo is intended for two people with a private double room; Family is designed for four, with accommodation arrangements confirmed before booking. Check the current package overview.

For a solo traveller, the important difference is not whether a name sounds adventurous. Compare the accommodation arrangement, planned surf days, included activities and the final total. For two people, establish whether you are looking at a per-person price or the total for both. Families should provide children’s ages and ask how lessons and rooms will be arranged for their particular group.

The published programme lists surf instruction, supervised free surf, equipment and certain meals and transfers. Rather than assume every night buys an identical timetable, ask the team to explain the actual programme across your arrival day, surf days, rest days and departure. That is especially useful for a four-night visit or a longer stay.

What a first surf stay should answer

Dar Swell’s lesson guide invites guests to describe their experience and comfort in the water. That is a good place to start. If you have never surfed, say so; if you have only stood up in broken waves, do not describe yourself as confidently intermediate. Mention ages, swimming confidence and what you hope to learn.

The official guide describes equipment familiarisation, a beach briefing and early practice in whitewater as a general introduction to beginner lessons. It also states that beach choice, group size, lesson length and the plan for your dates are confirmed by the camp. Those are details to ask about, not gaps to fill with assumptions. Read Dar Swell’s lesson information.

If you already catch unbroken waves, ask whether sessions focus on individual progression or shared group instruction. For more experienced surfers, clarify the balance between coaching, guiding and free surf. The best answer explains what the team can provide at your level, not simply that the package suits everyone.

Tamraght as your base

Dar Swell places the project in Tamraght on the Agadir–Taghazout coast. Think of the location as a base from which the right session can be chosen, rather than a promise that one famous wave will work throughout your stay. Distance to a beach and suitability for your level are two different things.

Ask for the exact address, how to reach the house and which transport arrangements apply to surf sessions. A practical arrival plan should include the transfer pickup point, flight details, late-arrival procedure and who to contact if the journey changes. If access, hills or carrying equipment matter to you, confirm those details separately.

Our Tamraght surf spot guide helps orient the trip. It cannot replace a current forecast or local assessment. A beginner-friendly reputation does not make a break appropriate during every swell.

Choosing dates around the opening and the ocean

If the planned November opening proceeds, Dar Swell would launch during Morocco’s established autumn–winter surf window. The Moroccan National Tourist Office points experienced surfers toward October to April, while describing beginner learning as possible year-round. That seasonal context is useful; it does not verify that the camp is ready to host you.

A beginner considering an early winter stay should ask how lesson beaches are selected when the exposed coast is powerful. An intermediate surfer should explain the waves they already surf comfortably. Keep your plan flexible enough for a smaller session, a beach change or a day out of the water when necessary.

For a fuller decision, read the best time to surf in Morocco and our December guide. Choose the time that suits your ability and trip priorities, then check the camp’s opening and availability for those exact dates.

Before you commit: a new-camp checklist

  1. Is the opening still planned for November 2026, and will my room be ready for my dates?
  2. Which room is included, what bathroom arrangement applies and is the price per guest or per group?
  3. What is included on each day: surf sessions, equipment, meals, transfers and activities?
  4. Which activities depend on conditions, a group minimum or an additional payment?
  5. What written status confirms my stay, and when should I arrange non-refundable travel?
  6. What happens to my deposit and booking if the opening is delayed?

Dar Swell’s official camp page explicitly says a submitted request is not a confirmed stay. Wait for the camp’s confirmation and read its current terms before relying on a reservation. Keep your written quote and confirmation together so there is no uncertainty about the dates or inclusions.

Clear answers to the current questions

Is Dar Swell already open?

As checked on 10 October 2026, the official site says opening is planned for November 2026. We therefore label the camp Opening soon. Ask Dar Swell for the latest status.

Does submitting a request confirm a stay?

No. Dar Swell’s official camp guide says the team checks rooms, dates and arrangements before changing a request from Pending Confirmation to Confirmed.

Do the published packages include lunch?

The official camp overview states that lunch is not included. It lists breakfast and dinner on surf days. Ask for the full meal plan for your actual stay, including non-surf days.

Where are prices and availability confirmed?

Directly with Dar Swell. Marokko.surf does not sell this stay or hold live room availability. The official site and your written confirmation are the booking references.
